Urban freight transport needs to contribute to a climate-friendly transport transition due to negative environmental impacts and growing land consumption. On behalf of Agora Verkehrswende, our goal is to investigate data requirements and sources in cities, establish effective participation and control processes, and explore measures to significantly increase the role of urban freight transport in the transport transition.

This involves minimizing the impact on the climate and overall quality of life. Municipalities must adopt ambitious measures, beyond technology-driven innovations like digitalization and electrification, to successfully implement the transport transition in freight transport. Past attempts have often faltered due to the lack of meaningful data.
