Implementation strategy for urban logistics in Mainz
The city of Mainz aims to assess and implement short-term measures to reduce nitrogen oxide pollution in line with recommendations from the Mainz³ master plan for urban freight transport. The focus is on inner city areas, involving local businesses as part of the urban logistics implementation strategy. The Chair of Freight Transport Planning and Transport Logistics prepared a report, creating a detailed overview of current logistics processes, including general cargo and CEP logistics. An analysis of deficits was conducted using models and on-site surveys, workshops, and case study interviews. Based on business and administration structures, stakeholder input, and the deficit analysis, specific measures were derived. Stakeholders for implementation were identified through a stakeholder analysis, and suitable communication formats were determined for involving them in the process.
