The results of the two initial studies in the predecessor project "Case Study Research on Urban Logistics and Last Mile Delivery Processes in Germany/China" will be used as a basis to identify differences and similarities between the two countries in a comparative study. In addition to analyzing the parcel market at a national level, the comparison is also carried out at a city level using the example cities of Berlin and Suzhou. A model transfer of Chinese bundling strategies in Berlin has shown that large mileage savings can be achieved, especially in the subordinate development network, if the bundling approaches (apartment block level) that are common in Suzhou (China) are applied.
